FenceWright have been proud partners of Harvey’s Cureageous Pride in their Walk for a Cure from Augusta to Perth.
Cassie and Gabriel Lovering started this charity last year in honour of their son Harvey who passed away from brain cancer, and to raise funds for childhood cancer research.
On the 3rd of October, their everyday hero fundraising page reached it’s goal of $100,000.
The weekend before this, Cassie, Gabriel and their team conquered 360 kilometers by foot in their fundraising event Walk for a Cure. Their first two days of walking were in near 30 degree heat, followed by a day of hail and wading through knee high water. When speaking about the enormous feat they faced, Gabriel said “as hard as it was, it was nothing compared to what the kids go through, and it was that thought that kept us going.”
“As we walked down South St we saw all of the FenceWright signs on the side of the road. We really appreciate FenceWright coming on board this year as our very first official sponsor,” said Gabriel.
FenceWright donated a total of $5000 to Harvey’s Cureageous Pride, which funded parts of the walk, and allowed others to join legs of the walk without having to pay any fees. A total of 50 people joined in the last leg of the walk from Fremantle to Subiaco, a total of 18km.The Walk for a Cure was completed successfully for the second year running, and Cassie and Gabriel will have a few months off before sitting down to organise the next one.
“We need to keep raising awareness, too many children are diagnosed with cancer, it’s around 600 each year,” Gabriel explained.
FenceWright look forward to working with Cassie and Gabriel in the future as they continue their hard work in fundraising for this fantastic cause.
