Improved Security for Strategic Water Assets – Fitzroy River Water
Chair of Rockhampton Regional Council’s Airport, Water and Waste Committee, Councillor Neil Fisher said the measures put in place at these three sites will reduce maintenance costs in the long term and help to safeguard these important assets. “Ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of our water and sewerage assets through the FRW network is of paramount importance to our Region,” Cr Fisher said. Each of the three sites recently had new palisade style security fencing installed as a measure to reduce instances of unauthorised entry and graffiti at the sites. “This is part of FRW’s commitment to ensuring efficient and reliable operation of our water and sewerage assets for current residents and future generations,” Cr Fisher said.
The total value for completing this work was approximately $380,000, with the contractor FenceWright Pty Ltd spending $95,000 locally on the accommodation and hire of equipment and services required to complete the project. FenceWright Managing Director Matthew Sivewright said it was a pleasure dealing with the team at Fitzroy River Water in particular their proactive and innovative approach to project management and safety. “The quality of the finished fencing is a testament to the strong team approach that FRW and FenceWright adopted on this project from planning right through to completion,” Mr Sivewright said.
